At Malmaison & Hotel du Vin, we believe that creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment is the right thing to do and drives innovation, creativity, and success.
EDI plays a pivotal role in shaping our company culture, ensuring that we create a working environment where every individual feels safe, has a sense of belonging and is empowered to achieve their full potential.
Each year, we launch “Have Your Say”, our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) survey. We’ve been working hard to understand the areas we’re doing well in and the areas in which we could do more to drive a culture of Equality, Diversity, and inclusion within our company. We ensure we feedback on the results and actions of the survey via our “YOU SAID WE DID” updates.
We have an EDI calendar and a programme of awareness on EDI topics such as National Inclusion Week, Black History Month, Race Equality Week, and many more as well as religious celebration days such as Ramadan, Diwali, and Hanukkah.
We also have our “Your Voice” forum, which is a way to engage together to discuss, consult, and share ideas. One of the main aims of the Your Voice Forum is to represent the voice of our people and increase everyone’s involvement in our business.
Malmaison & Hotel du Vin have joined the Age-friendly Employer Pledge; a nationwide initiative launched by The Centre for Ageing Better, for UK employers who recognise the importance and value of older workers. Employers commit to improving work for people in their 50s and 60s and taking the necessary action to help them flourish in a multi-generational workforce. These actions include:
Creating an age-friendly culture that values older employees.
Hiring age-positively to combat ageism in recruitment.
Facilitating flexible working arrangements to accommodate diverse needs.
Encouraging career development for employees of all ages.
Ensuring health support is accessible to all staff members.
